Morocco Banking Information Guide & Tips

One of the countries that Veem can process payments to is Morocco. This is done using two banking partners: Citi Bank (primary) and SVB. Payees can receive funds in MAD and USD.

Payments that are processed in MAD require specific formatting for the Account Number, and the recipient will need to provide the following information:

  • Bank Code (3 digits) - This will auto-populate through the bank picker and is unique for each bank.

  • Branch Code (3 digits) - This is unique for each branch of a specific bank.

  • Bank Account Number- This needs to be 18 digits long, including a 2-digit RIB Key >> 16-digit account # + 2-digit RIB #).

  • Bank Name

  • Beneficiary Name - The bank account holder's name must be precisely registered with the bank account.

  • Currency - The currency associated with the bank account.

  • Account Type - This can be checking or savings.

**RIB stands for relevé d’identité bancaire, meaning "statement of banking identity."

IMPORTANT: To successfully deliver payments to Morocco, the RIB Key must always be added as a suffix to the bank account number! The last two digits are the RIB Key. Please take a look at the table below for more details.
