How to Sync Veem 2FA with Authenticator Apps

The Two Factor Authentication (2FA) allows users to add a level of security to access their Veem account.

One of the common errors clients experience when entering a 2FA code is linked to app sync issues i.e. time correction. To resolve this, follow the steps below:

1: Clients using the Google Authenticator App:

  • For iOS devices:
    1. Go to the phone Settings.
    2. Scroll down and tap on General.
    3. Scroll down and tap on Date & Time.
    4. Ensure that "Set Automatically" is enabled.
    5. Close and reopen the Google Authenticator app.

  • For Android devices:
    1. Open the main menu in the Google Authenticator app.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Choose "Time correction for codes."
    4. Tap on "Sync now."

2: Clients using the Microsoft Authenticator App (MFA):

  • For iOS devices:
    1. Go to the phone Settings.
    2. Scroll down and tap on General.
    3. Scroll down and tap on Date & Time.
    4. Ensure that "Set Automatically" is enabled.
    5. Close and reopen the Microsoft Authenticator app.

  • For Android devices:
    1. Open the main menu in the Microsoft Authenticator app.
    2. Tap on the three dots located in the top right-hand corner.
    3. Select Settings.
    4. Choose "Time correction for codes"
    5. Tap on "Sync now."

NOTE: The steps provided above are specific to Google Authenticator and Microsoft Authenticator. If you're using a different authenticator app, please refer to the app's documentation or search for instructions on how to sync or correct the time within that particular app.
